1. What is the difference between an Open Mesh and Closed Mesh windscreen?
A "Closed Mesh" screen has a very tight weave, blocking out approximately 80% to 90% of wind and visibility. It creates the best solid background (batter's eye) but catches a lot of wind. An "Open Mesh" screen has a looser weave, allowing about 30% to 50% of the wind to pass right through it. It is strongly recommended for chain-link fences in high-wind areas to prevent structural fence damage.
2. How are these windscreens sold and priced?

Air vents (often called wind windows or box vents) are holes cut into the fabric of the screen and reinforced with heavy stitching. If your field is located in an area known for severe wind gusts, you should absolutely add air vents to your order. They relieve the immense "sail" pressure that a solid screen puts on your metal fence posts.
4. How is the windscreen attached to the fence?
All of our commercial windscreens feature heavy-duty reinforced hems lined with rust-resistant brass grommets. The screen is attached to the chain-link fence by weaving heavy-duty industrial UV-resistant zip ties or galvanized hog rings through the grommets and directly around the fence wire.

The batter's eye is the visual area directly behind the center-field fence in the batter's line of sight.
