There's been an important rule change at the high school level for field hockey. The NFHS has recently posted the rule change below.
1-6-5: Allows a wire-caged style penalty corner face mask to be worn when defending a penalty corner. Rationale: Allows the option of wearing a wire-caged penalty corner face mask during a penalty corner. Failure to remove the wire-caged mask beyond the 25-yard area results in a player misconduct.
The most popular model for these masks is the OBO FaceOff steel mask.
The OBO FaceOff face mask is great for keeping players protected while offering the best visibility possible. The open wire concept is great for being able to see as much as possible while staying protected and avoiding possible scratches or fogging up.
